Orientation Class on Child Marriage Prevention Held in Bharatpur-28, Chitwan

Bharatpur, Chitwan. Jyoti Community Development Service Nepal (Jyoti Nepal) successfully conducted an Orientation Class on Child Marriage Prevention at a local school in Bharatpur-28, Chitwan.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the risks and consequences of child marriage while strengthening community commitment to child protection, education, and social responsibility.

Key Focus Areas & Impact

The session provided participants, particularly those under 18, with a comprehensive understanding of how early marriage negatively impacts a child's future. Through interactive discussions, the program addressed several critical themes:

  • Educational & Economic Impact: Dealt with the disruption of education, long-term poverty cycles, and economic inequality caused by early marriage.

  • Health & Well-being: Highlighted severe psychological stress, social pressure, and critical health risks for adolescent girls.

  • Legal & Community Awareness: Enhanced understanding of child protection rights and empowered individuals to identify and respond to vulnerable situations.

Expected Outcome: Participants (Students & Teachers) were encouraged to act as change agents within their families and neighborhoods, helping to prevent local child marriage practices and advocate for children's education.
